Business News reported on May 21 that Thailand's textile and garment exports grew by 1.1 in the first quarter of this (2013) year, while textile exports increased, offsetting the sluggish sales of garments.
According to the Thai Clothing Association (Thai Garment Manufacturers Association; The latest statistics from TGMA) show that Thailand's textile and garment exports increased by US $1.84 billion in the first quarter of this year compared with the same period in the previous (2012) year.
Among them, textile exports amounted to US $1.139 billion, an increase of 6.37 over the same period last year, while garment exports declined by 6.43 to US $0.701 billion,. In March this year, Thailand's garment exports were $31.2 million 0.2 billion, a decrease of 11.1 per cent.
